Jesse D. Fries is an attorney with Orwin & Fries Law Office in Somerset, Kentucky. Jesse focuses on providing personalized, reliable advice to clients no matter their legal issue.
Jesse earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also maintains an inactive membership with the Montana Bar Association. On September 1, 2017, Jesse was made a partner with Orwin & Fries.
At Vermont Law School Jesse gained extensive experience in environmental law. Working with the Vermont Law School Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic Jesse worked to protect local waterways for fishing and recreation, fought to restrict expansion of aging oil pipelines, and helped enforce coal reclamation statutes.
Jesse also worked alongside Prof. Michael McCann of Sports Illustrated as a research assistant. Research and writing topics included the Americans with Disabilities Act, collective bargaining agreements, the Penn State University sexual abuse scandal, and anti-trust law.
Jesse has a broad range of experiences and interests and is happy to counsel clients on any problems they may encounter.
Jesse was born in Somerset, Kentucky and earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 170. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with his dogs enjoying Kentucky’s beautiful landscapes.
