Jesse D. Fries is a partner with Orwin & Fries in Somerset, Kentucky. Jesse's focus is on living up to Orwin & Fries' slogan, "Law. For Life.", by providing personalized, reliable advice to his clients across their legal interests.
Jesse earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association. He also maintains an inactive membership with the Montana Bar Association.
At Vermont Law School Jesse focused on environmental law, in particular clean water and reclamation of mining sites. While working with the Vermont Law School Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic (ENRLC), Jesse worked to protect local waterways from dangerous chemicals, restrict the expansion of aging oil pipelines, and to prevent air pollution. ENRLC is a nationally recognized legal clinic which provides legal expertise across the country.
Jesse also worked alongside Prof. Michael McCann of Sports Illustrated as a research assistant. Research and writing topics included the Americans with Disabilities Act, collective bargaining agreements, the Penn State University sexual abuse scandal, and anti-trust law.
Jesse is a native of Somerset, Kentucky and a proud graduate of Somerset High School. Jesse is an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 170. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with his dogs enjoying Kentucky's beautiful landscapes. Jesse is also Secretary of the Watershed Arts Alliance and a board member for Master Musicians Festival.
