Although Bruce Orwin joined The Nature Conservancy’s Kentucky Board of Trustees in 2016, he is not new to the mission. In fact, prior to making his affiliation formal, he donated legal expertise related to land acquisitions in the Rockcastle River watershed for more than twenty years. The work even earned him a “Volunteer of the Year” award in 1996.

Our offices are located in one of the oldest buildings in downtown Somerset, built somewhere around the time of the American Civil War. At one time this building was the home of Somerset General Hospital and Somerset Drug Company. The building has been remodeled many times and looks a bit different today.
